Won't be around much for the next week or two. I have a tiny project to do for the rescue. Attached is pictures of my project. It is a baby chick in the pictures it is 24-30 hours old.

It was an accidental hatch and the parents would not take care of it. When I got it it was only a few hours old and cold as cold could be. The yellow fluff was was just stuck to it's body. We have reached the 48 hour mark and the chick is doing well. The crop is emptying and the skin is a nice light pink. Keep your fingers crossed for the chick. At this age survival is iffy.
Care to guess what kind of bird it is?

One more picture. Boy this is one active chick. I love how it crawls around on all fours

I'd say tiel...

What do we get if we guess right?

I am guessing it's a rescued baby Quaker. Sure is cute!

Nope, it's a baby cocktiel, probably a lutino. As I remember (and Lord knows this could be wrong!), cockatiels are about the only parrot whose young have yellow down.

A tiel is right. But I think it will be a grey tiel. Like Busters Buddy said all tiels are born with the yellow down. A big giveaway. Nothing for getting it right except for pictures of the baby as it grows.

He looks cocky enough - all the best.
