As some of you know I took a break for 15years from breeding for various reasons. Well...my oldest son swore he heard chirps coming from the 'tiels box, went and checked and sure enough, 2 little yellow fluff balls. There's still 2 or 3 eggs to go, I've been really cautious about disturbing the parents (Ally and Bozo) too much. This also means I won't be taking pics of the little ones for awhile. It's their first clutch, they're both young birds and they've done such a good job I just don't want to upset them during this first few weeks. I'll pull the chicks at 3 weeks and handraise them then. I'm so proud of these 2, and my oldest son is really excited. It's his first babies ever.:yahoo:

Congrate Abby.. But do leave some for them to rasie.. First time breeders. You do not have to pull them at that age either Mary.. Some times I do at 3 weeks.. Get them just before they hiss at you. Even better start feeding them in the nest at two weeks.. You can feed on top of what the parents feed.

I'll keep one, have to keep my first baby, the rest I'll start looking at homes for once they're getting towards weaning stage. I have this theory that if I take them to the kids school I should be able to suck a couple of parents in.;)

Sorry, no baby baby pics of these ones. I really want to leave Ally and Bozo in peace as much as possible. I just don't want to have to handraise sooner then I really want to because the parents have gotten scared off the nest. I'm going let them raise at least one completely by themselves so they get the full experience of being parents. That one will stay in the aviary, one will be a pet here, and I've got someone for the 3rd that hatched this morning.

Congrats Grandma!! I bet they are cuties! Baby tiels always are, even if they make an awful noise (and that is coming from a Nanday Mama, lol).

When I had baby tiels they hissed a lot, it's really cute! I wonder if they are trying to convince us they are snakes-"Be afraid!"
