I recently saw some photos of this bird and had never heard of it before. Apparently the Turacos is no stranger to many people and are kept and bred as pets. What do you know of this bird? Is it commonly seen in any of the countries you are in? They are pretty but seem more like to look at rather than to play with. Their plumage and composition is beautiful.

I saw lots of them in South Africa, including the go-away bird. http://www.avianweb.com/goawaybirds.html

I have quite a few pics on the main FAF site (yeah I know, I need to update it  ) of both wild turacos and some up-close in aviaries. They seem to have cheeky personalities and do well in the large walk-in aviaries but I don't know how they would go as pets or if it is possible to buy them.

I saw someone on another site discussing them and the photos were very pretty. When I looked them up I noticed adds for them in the UK, etc. I was curious if they were just aviary birds as that is what it seems people buy them for. I guess any bird can potentially be tamed (?).
