LOL...Oh dear lord. Pita was on my shoulder, and as soon as the video started he ran under my shirt, eyes bulging, and tried to hide the best he could...LOL That must be some sort of war call......LOL

Funny, Jim. This is the third account I have heard of an Ekkie being loud. Mine aren't at all, except for Cleo, my hormonal "football" who increases tenfold in size when I go to touch her. She does a screech, but the others just talk. I wonder if I should stop telling people that Ekkies are quiet birds! :pullhair:

She doesn't do that very often. Remeber the room we are in is about 12' X 14' so it has great accustics. She might let off with that once a day. Unless we try to disciple her then she does it all the time!! lol Sophie likes the squirt bottle!! She was mad because I split her and Benji up.

Youtube is a bit funny, it takes a while for them to show up after you upload them. My birds could hear Sophie all the way in the bird room and they answered her! Especially Chaska!

my only comparison for total volume is the amazon that used to live across the hall (a bird not a woman!!) She was far louder then Sophie. Oh, and that was not Sophie at her worse. She hasn't done that in a long time.

I've never heard an ekkie make any noise at all. The only encounter I've had was a sick male/female pair and they didn't do anything.

She sounds pretty cute. Doesn't sound that loud to me, but then again I live with a wild caught amazon!!
