Hi everyone,
Today we got in three new rescues. Three tiels who were found in an empty house. two lutinos and one grey male all in a small nasty dirty cage, no toys and dirty food and water dishes. Animal control held them in that small nasty cage for seven days! They would not let me in to even see them. I swear they are such dorks in there!
Any ways I finally got to pick them up. The grey's neck is plucked, one lutino is missing her crest and the other is just plucked everywhere and has sores.
I got them in a much bigger clean cage and then saw why they were all so plucked. I put in one food dish to start and they all started fighting, pulling each others tails and climbing on each other to get to the food. So now they have two big food dishes, two sticks of millet, two treat dishes, one with greens and one with pasta and red palm oil. They were running around tasting everything and when I put in some shredding pinatas they were running around chewing on the toys. What a group of happy birds!
I leave Thurday early morning for Houston and the Parrot Festival. Will be back Sunday night. Hope you all have a great weekend!
