Aww, those poor little babies! I want them all but I can only afford one and not until roughly 10 Oct. Damn, how do you choose? I will feel bad for the other ones!

Gayla, how did you make the decision when you chose Ricky Roo?

Ya know Tiki. The money from sponsorships actually goes into a pool and is doled out as needed. If something were to come up with Ricky, my $25.00 a month is alocated to him. So whoever you choose is going to benifit, as will all the baby's. The sponsorship money they get helps so much, but of course they always need more.

How did I choose Ricky? Well, I originally wanted to sponsor Casper (U2) whom Bee & I met at a Meet The Birds. But I came to find out that he has become part of Julies flock, so I just said to them.....then pick me a baby. I didn't really care, like I said they all need it. They said how about Ricky Roo, and I got so excited because I had just seen him that day when Bee & I went on the tour. I remembered him saying 'RICKY RICKY RICKY ROO" I said.....he'd be perfect.

So I would suggest, if theres a certain bird you want to sponsor, like a Tiel, or Amazon, or Conure etc etc....just tell them to assign one to you. If it doesn't matter, then just tell them to pick you a birdy.

Also, I do mine by credit card, and they do them the 15th of the month. SO it automatically comes out of my CC.

The Quakers are jumping out at me, they just look so forlorn and it seems like they don't have any toys. Or maybe the toys were in a different part of the cage? I am also drawn to the smaller birds like the Conures and Tiels, but the Tiels look like they have lots of toys. :pullhair: Maybe I should just ask them to pick a small bird that has been there a while and needs it?

If I were to win photo contests on any of the boards and the prize was food or toys, I would want to direct it to my sponsor bird, no one ships to Australia anyway! :wall:

LOL...Trust me the Quakers have lots of toys. These 2 were running back & forth on the bottom of the cage, sqeeking at me....I love the little noises Quakers make. They aren't the only Quakers either...there were I'd say maybe 3 or 4 more in that room.

Like I said, whatever you give helps them all. Only if your specific bird needs something, then your sponsor $$ goes to him, plus other $$.

Tara, you just do what you can. It will be enough I promise.

They do make the cutest little trilling chirp when they are happy. Chaska purrs like a kitten too!
