I thought she was jus cranky yesterday but she is doing it again today! Everytime I try to get Priny to step up she just hisses and tries to bite me (and does). She walks to the front of her cage like she wants to be picked up but then when I put my finger out (or arm) she gets very upset. I don't think she likes me anymore. Besides her attitude she is fine, eating and playing.

Maybe it's just PMS :hugs:

Even Manu who is the sweetest tiel in the world can get cranky. I think it is some kind of tiel PMS, they just get like that once in a while but they get over it.

I hope she gets over it soon, I miss holding my girl! But Doyle doesn't mind- he's been with me ALL day!

Did you change anything? Hair color? style? nailpolish?
Gypsy HATED when I wore bright nailpolish...it was the instant enemy. Light colors were ok (guess they blended more). Prinny could just be moody, but look to see if there's been any other changes too!

Lulu can be real snotty occassionally - she'll beg for scritches but mid-scritch if you're doing it the wrong way she'll suddenly hiss at you, but then the next minute she's begging for more - typical female .
Is she only acting like this when in or near her cage? Lulu gets cage possessive when it's late and she's tired.

She's letting me give her scritches but won't step up. Usually she is dying for someone to say step up to her, she would be carried around all day if you let her. I think she might becoming a little more territorial about her cage (she gets very angry if someone gets near her food and always has) because she flew off her cage and in my direction today and stepped up off the floor. She just seems moody and aggitated, I might try letting her get more sleep and see if that helps.
And I haven't changed anything- well except I haven't been wearing glasses today, hmm...

But I wore them yesterday and she was the same way, very snappy and always with the hissing. I really think it might be a sleep thing, I think I might have to finally break down and give the fids their own room so they aren't in the main area all the time.

Don't give up Tiffany, just give her a day and just pretend nothing happened. She might just be having an off day.

Tiredness can really be a big one. Has she been more active lately?
When Laker's had a big fly day he will have an afternoon nap or want go to bed earlier. I think this is were they get their rep for being like kids [adults are cranky too when tired]. Laker will want to be with you - even fly to you & then he'll run down my arm & bite my thumb - his favourite bite Mom spot!. I usually say, 'Tired or need more 1 on 1?'.
Sometimes he'll just be an angel if he's at eye level & i talk or do my Budgie sounds & whistles - then he closes his eyes & pufs up followed by a serenade to me.
But there are times when he's tired [more bites! ] & he's actually very happy to be walked to his cage.
When he's territorial about his cage i have always used one phrase - 'excuse me' & even my husband has started using it - he steps aside so I can fuss with his cage. He used to be quite the little biter & territorial.
She may be hormonal or even pushing you to see if she can get more control - bully style. Hopefully that will go - so my vote is more rest.

I definitely think that not enough sleep can be the cause - or hormones. Has she been chewing or shredding extra lately?
I do think this phase will pass, I agree with putting her to bed early and take it from there. When Jerry's extra cranky I make sure to get him to bed early.

She has been shredding, but I bought her some new shredding toys since those are the ones she enjoys the most. I put her to bed early last night and she has been better today.

I would have thought a bit early in the season but then Samm's tiels are breeding so maybe not? She could be hormonal and that's why she has been hitting on Doyle. You could have the world's first Nanatiel? :rotfl: :yikes:
