A red tailed hawk is in Fenway Park.

It attacked a girl. (not seriously)

Make sure you watch the video clip, it's on the top left of the screen. The vid DOES NOT show the attack.

Very cool.

What a beautiful baby

OK, they removed the nest & egg, but what did they do with it? Red Tail Hawks mate for life, and nest in the same place every year.

She's gorgeous! I feel bad for the egg, I hope they didn't destroy it.

I was told that once they remove the nest, the egg goes with. :sob:

The egg was not viable,it was not being sat on according to another source from Mass Wildlife. The egg was 'ice cold' to quote the official. This is the first year that a nest was built at that location, so removing it will just force the pair to make a better nesting site choice.

It reminds of Pale Male, the red tail that has lived for years in Manhattan NY......they had removed the nest and the birds kept trying to rebuild it. They nested on an appartment building, right over Woody Allens place. Everyone protested about the removal of the nest, and they went and made precautions so when they rebuilt the nest it would be more stable.

Here's the link to his website. It's a beautiful story.

I noticed the site has changed alot. If you go to the Archives, it's more about Pale Male & Lola.....and his kids and thier babies.

I love the whole story.
