Ok, first is Bhanu my irn who is happily pissing off the cockatiels nowadays. I need to get her her own breeding box so she stops being nosey with the 'tiels. She's still quite friendly but once her flight feathers grew back the attitude started. I couldn't clip her again she was enjoying flying so much, so decided to put her out with the 'tiels where she still had company and could fly to her hearts content. Oh and yes she only has one foot, lost the other one before I got her, doesn't seem to affect though.

Mary, what is the Mallee's personality like? Is he friendly? He's so pretty!

Hey I am going to that Birdfest in 2 weeks that Smiley posted about! Never know what I might find there?

Hard to know at this stage. Mallee has been and aviary bird all his (I think it's a boy) life. I'm going to trial Bhanu in there with him later today as she's being a pain not letting the 'tiels near the nest boxes. Ally and Bozo are well and truly ready to go down, been bonking away, really interested in the boxes. Bhanu has decided that they're hers.

Just found some info in my ABK "Australian long and broad tail parrots book". I'm citing here. Similar to Rosellas in temperament, pugnacious and in some instances downright vicious. With more docile birds it's a happy camper, probably 'cos it can boss them around, a handraised one that was owned by some guy called the Duke of Bedford "took very little interest in the society of females of his own race, but devoted his life to the persecution of mankind. For this purpose he stationed himself on the lodge gates and, swooping down upon passersby, endeavoured to sieze them by the nose!"
I guess the short version is that one of these guys even h/r would certainly disturb your happy bird room Tara.

Bummer! They are so pretty, actually that's the reason I don't have Rosellas either. They are gorgeous and cheap but I am worried they won't fit in with my other birds.
