Default Who Loves the Penguin?

I have always been fascinated by the Penguin. Other than in their natural habitat or in a zoo, I never heard of anyone ever owning one. I would think if they did they would have to have an exotic bird.license. I know that we talk allot about the winged and flighted, but have you ever heard of a domestic environment having a penguin?

Nope, I have never heard of anyone having a pet penguin. I love watching them in the wild, we got to see lots of them in South Africa last year!

There are colonies of penguin species in the far southern parts of South Africa and Australia. In Australia, you can see them near Melbourne-the fairy penguins. In South Africa, you can see them near Cape Town in Boulder Bay-African penguins. I have some pics
here

I love penguins!!

I know someone that has a semi pet penguin, he lives at the beach and this female penguin made her nest under his house!
The amazing thing is she has to walk up a flight of steps to get up to his house.
I say semi pet as she has got to know him and will take fish from his hand

we have wild penguins here year round but none as pets as far as i know.
they are another bird in fact that I would hate to see kept as a pet.
In oamaru ( near where we holidayed this year) we went to the penguin march where 100s of blue penguins march up to their habitat nightly.
When i get the pics up i will post them for you

Thank you. There is just something about seeing animals in their own habitat. I'll look forward to seeing your photos.
